I listened to Leaders Eat Last and Start With Why. Both have good ideas and examples behind leadership and influencing others. Take out the lessons that apply to you and use them.

His concepts are 💯. BUT Two weeks ago just watched a video where he was speaking with a straight up British accent https://youtu.be/4gUL76lV7gk?si=FHppb2JOAMUmA1p5 . I’m fine with that, it’s even his heritage but the accent was so different than anything I’d heard from him that there was no way to reconcile the fact that either he was faking an accent in everything I’d seen him in or he was faking an accent in that video. It was posted 9 years ago and he’s likely made some decisions since then in how he presents himself to the world. Still love the guy and he’s a leadership idol in my book but man was that odd to me.

I see him as someone who provokes thoughts or shares wisdom. Helps people calibrate against a particular value system to fall back on when making decisions for yourself.

He is easy to listen to and without knowing the sources of his knowledge he does a good job at inspiring people. I have seen some criticism around him lacking practical experience in stuff he is teaching. But I do not care since he surrounds himself with great leaders and he shares his knowledge with us.

Honestly as long as he credits the original thinkers. Honestly as long as people's lives improve everything is ok. I will definitely check the other people you mentioned as well so thank you for the references as well

I think Simon’s genius comes from his ability to use concepts/theories from other fields, and apply to business, and leadership. One example of that is how he talks about change management, where he takes the work of Geoffrey Moore (Crossing the Chasm), and apply it to leadership.
