Born on July 9, 1985 in Washington state, he graduated from Northwestern College in Iowa in 2006 with a degree in history. At 21, he bought his first property, a single family home he "house hacked" by renting out bedrooms, and later flipped a duplex for a $20,000 profit that helped fund his wedding.
